tonight in LA at the Staples Center between the Sparks and the visiting Mystics. The Sparks are 10-1, while the Mystics are 10-2.
The Mystics are testing new waters here, as they are off to their best start in history. To illustrate that, the Mystics need to win just 5 of their remaining 20 games to achieve the winningest season in franchise history.
A very informative game notes (in PDF) is up at WNBA.com: http://www.wnba.com/mystics/news/notes.pdf
For the Mystics, Coco Miller is a candidate for the most-improved player this year, while Chamique Holdsclaw, who I never felt was a player who played to her potential, is playing like the staggering talent that she is. At this point she is the runaway favorite for MVP this year, and is leading all players in voting for the WNBA All-Star Game.
Holdsclaw is leading the league in both scoring and rebounding.
The game starts tonight at 7:30 in LA, 9:30 CDT.
