While looking over Sibyl's recruiting database, I noticed that Oklahoma had signed a new recruit for the class of 2003. According to the site, her name is Krista Sanchez and she is a 6'0" native of Springdale, Arkansas. It says she averages 18 ppg. 9rpg. and 3 apg in the 2002 season. Please post any other info on this young lady, because next to Nebraska, OU is the best!

Ahem! Are you sure about that? Oh well not to worry. We like passionate Big XII WBB fans no matter how flawed their judgement might be. http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/wink.gif http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/wink.gif http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/wink.gif

Next to Nebraska, anyone is... http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/biggrin.gif
Actually, I can't resist this story! At the (Men's) Big 8 tourney in Kansas City some years back, a waitress at one of the restaurants complimented us on how our Oklahoma team was doing. We asked how she knew we were from Oklahoma. "You're wearing red!", she said.
We mentioned that Nebraska also wore red. Her reply (swear this is true!), "Yes, but theirs is polyester"! http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/eek.gif

About Krista Sanchez, TXNOS reported on this on the 22nd, but the link has changed. Here it is now. Razorbacks seem disapointed.

Sanchez sounds like a first rate player.
At least soonerman & swok34 were helpful unlike that KSUron guy. http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif

The OU coaches love Sanchez. She got an offer over other highly ranked propects. She is 5'11" and OU projects her as a 3. She plays the 5 on her hs team being their tallest player. Good athlete, runs the floors well and can finish. Will need to improve her shooting from outside but she is pretty good right now. If she works hard, she can be a very good player for OU. Looks to meet all of Sherri's recruiting standards that is good player, good academics and most important, is a good person for team chemistry. Sometime, as a fan, it is hard for me to understand that OU will pass on a great player because the personalities don't match. But Sherri is first and formost big on team chemistry. The coaches think if the 2002-2003 team comes together as a team, they have a good chance to go back to the Final Four.

And where do you think Sibyl got her information? http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif

I worked the University of Arkansas Elite camp last summer and Krista Sanchez attended. I fell in love with her right away. She will be an excellent addidtion to OU. Actually I told her she would look good in Cardinal & Gold.
She does need to improve her range and her ball handling skills but has the physical tools to bang in the Big XII. At camp she dominated the 1-on-1 competition and the field included 2 kids that had already verballed to Arkansas.
Of course Arkansas is not very happy about losing a hometown girl and her mother is a former Lady Back as well.
She is a great addition to the Big XII family!!!!!

Surprise, success pays. I did the numbers for the 1,700 campers this year at OU, and the gross income from the camp fees alone is somewhere between 212,500 and 357,000 dollars.
Gotta be a net profit in there somewhere...
