Lauren Ervin of Arkansas, formerly of Kansas, tore her ACL late in last night's loss to LSU. Rehab will take six months, which of course means her college career is over.
She was averaging 16 points and 11 rebounds for the Lady Razorbacks and has been named player of the week in the SEC.
Sixth year senior Sarah Pfeifer is expected to take her place in the lineup. The already thin Arkansas team is down to 10 players, which includes walk on Hailey Nutt.

Ervin was leading the SEC in rebounds with 11 per game, and was top five in scoring at 16 points per game. The 6-3 post player from Inglewood, Calif., was also ranked nationally in rebounds and blocked shots per game.
“Obviously, I’m disappointed because we had worked so hard as a team to get off to a good start, and now, I’ll just have to work to help the team on the bench,” Ervin said.

Senior forward Sarah Pfeifer will start in Ervin's place. Pfeifer is averaging 8.1 points and 4.7 rebounds in 19.9 minutes per game. She is versatile enough to move inside after playing primarily on the wing, but it leaves Arkansas short-handed at small forward.
Pfiefer had been the primary back-up to Ayana Brereton.
"It shortens the rotation," Collen said. "Those are the cards we're dealt."
Speaking of shortening, the already vertically challenged squad will have only two 6'0' starters, Whitney Jones and Sarah Pfeifer. They do have a 6'2' freshman, Ashlea Williams, who has been averaging about eight minutes per game.
