Phillips 66 Big 12 Women's Basketball Players of the Week (January 7)

Rachel Allison (Baylor) was named Phillips 66 Big 12 Women's Basketball Player of the Week while Brittany Spears (Colorado) was chosen Rookie of the Week by a media voting panel for games of Jan 2-6. Both received the award for the first time.

Finally!!!!! Brittany has been playing really well. She has been consistently good but not gotten the ROW recognition because some other player has put together a more spectacular week. But you have to feel good about her results to date... Big 12 leading rookie in points and blocks and top 3 in assists, rebounds and steals.

As I've said more than once to the folks I sit with .... " I think she's a keeper" :D

I am so pleased for Brittany and so pleased that she got her academics together and got admitted to CU. She's got an outstanding career ahead of her.

I believe she's not only one of the best - if not the best freshman - in the conference, but in the country.
