Just coming to post that article after the rumor KSUron heard....
guess Sanderford won't be the one to turn the lights out.

I haven't heard a thing on "new coach" speculation so may I be the first to mention Cheryl Burnett.
I wish Coach Sanderford the best. I wonder if his "health problems" include depression? He has seemed to me, at great distance, to show some signs of depression. (like we all don't at one time or another) Whatever is going on with him I hope both he and NU have better days ahead.

Sad.
Tom Collen?
Or will Nebraska go with a leap of faith and hire a top assistant from somewhere. DeMoss from Tennessee?
Obviously the Cornhuskers need to move as quickly as they can while trying to get the best fit for the job.

I wonder what Jones and Robinette are thinking right now?

It's about time!!!!!
Paul has lost his edge and he knows it.
Unfortunately, it appears to be too little too late, as the damage is already done. Robinette is gone, along with NU's future...not to be too depressing.
Let's just pray that Janice Bright and the other future huskers don't change their minds about coming to Lincoln...

Xavier has their coach:

So, wouldn't that make Nebraska the only "big name" looking for a head coach right now? How is Nebraska's support of their women's basketball team?
I would really like to see Collen on board myself, after his fiasco.

Assistant Coach Jim Seward, who was hired in April, has been appointed interim Head Coach.
The Nebraska A.D. says a "national search" for a new Head Coach will begin immediatly.
My money's on Collen. Nebraska is in a big-time conference (not that I have to convince anyone here.. http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif ) and would be a great job for him.

What would happen if any of the 3 who left wanted to come back?????
How would the NCAA treat an issue like that?

I agree with mred, I think I would put my money on Collen, although Burnett remains a distinct possibility.

I don't know. If a player released from scholarship remains at the school, are they eligible?

Chipper, I predict,is polishing up or off somewhat of a historical, yet philosophical, message for us and the world regarding this event. Be Patient.

on the first plane to Colorado, getting ready to beg Tom Collen to consider Nebraska.
That's my guess, anyway. http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif

I am willing to bet big money that Collen doesn't end up at NU. He says he's taking a year off, and I bet he does...I could be wrong, but I think he won't be the person. My money's on Burnett.

If Collen doesn't want the job, I'm almost certain Burnett will get it. She has expressed interest in it.

Burnett has indeed expressed an interest in the Nebraska job: http://www.springfieldnews-leader.com/webextra/burnett/index.html

I hope I don't offend anyone by this comment, but I've never cared for Burnett and don't really want to see her in the Big XII.

You won't offend many Mizzou fans with the comment!

WE WANT COLLEN!!!!!
Seriously people, he is a very good coach who has been victimized by circumstances beyond his control.
His only mistake has been to assume that the judgement of others was correct regarding his degree status. Even at the time he admitted surprise that he didn't have 2 master's degrees.
(Actually, Tom - you were always right, and they were always wrong. Vanderbilt discarded you, CSU abandoned you; and you, good man - you deserve far better than that right now!)

I would rather see Collen than Burnett at NU myself...I'm with swok, just not a big fan of Burnett's but can't give a precise reason. Just a feeling.
