According to this article from the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, Boston College coach Pam Borton is all set to be announced as head coach of the Gophers tomorrow.

(Gee, that didn't take long! Only 7-1/2 weeks and 7 candidates who turned the job down. Guess the Gopher job must be considered a real plum right now!)

And while I'm on the subject of hiring new coaches, will Vandy ever find a coach? It seems like forever since Foster resigned.

It doesn't seem everyone is happy about the new coach in Minnesota: http://www.twincities.com/mld/twincities/sports/3333377.htm

It sounds like Robinson - and especially Lucia - have really valid points. Minnesota seems to be really out of whack salary-wise.

And to allow Voelz to hire the new coach after being given the pink slip, that just seems amazingly stupid. And it isn't like Borton was a slam-dunk either. She was assistant head coach at BC, and her record as a HC wouldn't exactly turn heads.

Kinda sad, what's going on there.

Well, at least the players finally have a coach and they seem to like her pretty well. For their sake, I hope things work out okay. After everything they've been through, they deserve it. Now the Vandy players are next in line -- surely SOME quality coach would like to lead one of the finest teams in the country?
