Greg Swaim is reporting the following over at the OUinsiders board. http://citadel6.ezboard.com/fouinsiderfrm2.showMessage?topicID=3731.topic

5'7 PG Kendra Moore of Ardmore (OK) verbally commited to Oklahoma this weekend...This is HUGE for the Sooners, as she is one of the top junior PG's I have seen in the part of the country and will likely be rated the #1 player in the state next year and will be a serious candidate for McDonald's All-American consideration.

A great start for 2003 recruiting for OU. Will Moore be the top prospect coming out of Oklahoma next year?

oops, just saw your question, carolann.....I think she will be the top player. She has made the Oklahoman's lists since she was a freshmen and was player of the year as a junior....

Kendra Moore is in the class of an Erin Grant. Grant is probably a better propect because she is longer. Moore is tiny but she most certainly would hold her own against Grant. Both great point guard propects. Moore during her soph year was deadly on a little ten to twelve foot jump shot. No range that I saw. Improved for her junior year hitting 40% of her three point shots for the year.

And Kendra Moore is also a track athlete. Caught the following blurb in my hometown newspaper. Moore competed in the high jump and long jump at state, but didn't win 1st. The article was about a local girl who won both events (Eaton).

Eaton was ranked second behind Kendra Moore of Ardmore, the same athlete she battled in the high jump. Prior to the state meet, Moore had jumped 18 feet.

Tabetha began slow while the Ardmore girl popped out a 18 1-1/2 jump in the prelims. Eaton went into the finals in sixth place.

When the finals begain, a recharged Eaton appeared applying pressure on the leader. The partial crowd was sure the Ardmore competitor was going to win. When Eaton heard an Ardmore coach call his girl the state champion prematurely, she got very fiured up and blasted out her 18-2 jump. The Ardmore girl got one more jump, but she couldn?t match Eaton. Thus Tabetha won her second gold medal at the state meet.

OU has appeared on the list Alison Bales, highly touted 6-7 post from Dayton, Ohio. Any insight on this item? BTW The Ohio class of '03 could challenge for the final four all by itself. Jessica Davenport, 6-6 out of Columbus is also a top post prospect. An outstanding group of young ladies. It will be interesting to see if Ohio State gets the lions share, even so, Foster can't take them all.
