As of Friday night, six of 16 fourth-rounders, and two of 16 second-rounders have been waived (plus many free agents). The first preseason game won't be played until May 9.

Does anyone know when the final rosters are announced?

They have to have be down to 15 by Wednesday.....that 15 does not include "injured", "suspended" nor those still playing overseas and not in camp.
The final roster of 11 (+ 2 on injured) has to be in by May 24, I believe.....a player is not considered "on the roster" until returning from wherever they are playing......thus, a team may be waiting on someone overseas and could keep an extra player until their return.

This is a show that was on last year and I wasn't able to catch..
still at work. Will keep a keen eye out for it this year though.
LIFETIME Television and the WNBA team up for the second season of "Player's Journal," a half-hour magazine show profiling the inspiring stories of WNBA athletes, premiering Friday, May 31, 5:00-5:30PM (ET/PT) on LIFETIME Television.
WNBA stars Sheryl Swoopes, Teresa Weatherspoon, Lisa Leslie, Jackie Stiles, Tamika Catchings, Stacey Dales-Schuman and Sue Bird are among this season's upcoming profiles of courage, ambition, talent and faith. The success stories of these remarkable athletes are a testament to the character building power of sports and the opportunity Title IX has given them to empower and pave the way for other women.

Oops, sorry. Make that Wednesday. Getting ahead of myself a bit here.
Anyone want to predict how many fourth-rounders will be on rosters opening day?

The only 4th rounder I think that has a chance is Stanford's Enghusen (sp?)...I wouldn't have thought that 2 weeks ago, but she seems to wowing them down in Houston with her rebounding.

Another article......about Detroit's situation. Projected starting PG out with injury; 2nd round draft pick from Belgium supposedly not coming.......Edwina Brown moving to starting PG until Canty heals.

Well, this could be interesting. Edwina played some point for Lieberman and for Greg Williams but went back to the 2. Anyway, we all know that points are like gold in the WNBA. The two guard position is crowded. Edwina is not really tall enough for the three. If Edwina looks at all effective at the point, her WNBA marketability goes up a lot.
