Last summer a group of Big 12 players went to Europe to play some games vs club teams. I know a school can do that once every four or five years. But what are the rules for a conference? Could a conference go every year? If so who will be coaching the team this summer? If not when is the next time the Big 12 is going overseas to play?

I know that the Big XII also went prior to Phylesha Whaley's senior year......so that was ?3 years ago.
I'm almost positive the rule for a team is 4 years. No clue on the conference.

The Big 12 men and women alternate. Three years ago Dick Halterman took the women, two years ago Ricardo Patton took the men, last year Ceal Barry took the women. The men are supposed to have a tour this year then i guess.

Gleaned this from Roger's article on the CU banquet (thanks Roger).
"Coach Barry revealed that Tera Bjorklund will participate on "The Young Women's Team" in Brazil this summer. The coach for that team will be Texas Coach Marsha Sharp."
Now don't ask me what in the heck this is and who else is going. http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif I don't know....yet.

Actually Tera will try out for the USA Basketball Young Women's Qualifying Team, which Marsha Sharp will apparently coach. She's not on the team yet. That she would try out was mentioned by Ceal and confirmed by Carol Callan of USA Basketball.

I hope (and Marsha doesn't get to choose the players) that Jia Perkins gets picked to try out and hopefully play for this team. I think it would give her valuable experience (ala Ms. Dales Canadian team) that she could use tremendously. I do think that Alana Beard is an automatic I read somewhere. The players have to be 20 and under.
