According to a posting on the RaiderPower Bulletin Board, the player of the year named last Thursday was Plainview's Chelsi Welch!

Saw her play only once and she'll fit right into the OU system IMO. I really don't see her fitting in any of the other Big XII systems because OU fits her so well. She'll be special for them. I just hope Alesha Robertson (Tech's recruit from Plainview) is just a little more special http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/wink.gif . Welch and Robertson run the floor extremely well and the one time I saw Welch play she kinda reminded me of Caton Hill. Able to post up, runs the floor great, and can spot up and shoot the three. Congrats to her, but I just wish Tech could have had Alesha this year as well. Alesha's and Chelsi's numbers were almost identical. I know they had the exact same scoring averages, but Alesha had something like .2 more rebounds. They'll both be great players because they come from a special program.
